World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2026
World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2026 was observed jointly by the Indian Medical Association, Calcutta Metro Branch and Banchbo Healing Touch Foundation to promote awareness, dignity, safety, and protection of older persons. The programme highlighted the importance of recognising and preventing physical, emotional, financial, and neglect-related abuse of elders, while encouraging families and communities to create a respectful and supportive environment for healthy ageing.
