Support to Vikashita School of Banchbo at Sundarban
Since 2005, we have been running an educational initiative in Sundarban focused on decreasing dropout rates among marginalized students facing socioeconomic challenges. After 12 years of operating an evening supplementary school, we successfully established our own free pre-primary and primary school building in Patharpratima, Sundarban, in 2017. The three-storied school building surrounded by lush greenery and the adjacent beautiful park make education a real joy for children. Our competent and dedicated teachers have sincerely tried to give the best to our children. We aim to give these children the same opportunities as the children of our city. These modern modalities of education are highly praised by the guardians and by local civil authorities. This school accommodates students from Montessori I to Class IV and offers a unique educational experience that incorporates authentic Montessori materials, a computer training centre, and a well-stocked library. A range of books aligned with the course curriculum, along with educational materials and school uniforms such as shirt and pant/skirt, is provided free of charge. Self-earning is also a unique scheme for the students. Another new activity we are going to start this year is celebrating our children’s birthdays by cutting a cake and gifting them their favourite fruits. Our teachers are almost trained (D.EL.ED Certified), and they are doing an online English Course conducted by RKMVM, Rishra. We are always trying to upgrade our teachers by different seminar or crash courses. The school is located in the Panchamer Bazar area of Patharpratima Block, Sundarban.
